Desacada Tacloban City–A festive atmosphere filled the Tacloban City Convention Center as the Department of Agrarian Reform Region VIII distributed e-Titles, Certificates of Condonation with Release of Mortgage, and turned over farm support projects to agrarian reform beneficiaries. Farmers from Northern Samar, Western Samar, Eastern Samar, Leyte, Biliran, and Southern Leyte waved their flaglets during the ceremony. Farmers from Northern Samar, Western Samar, Eastern Samar, Leyte, Biliran, and Southern Leyte brandished their respective flaglets. A total of 13,067 ARBs received their e-Titles, under the Project SPLIT, a program aimed at fast-tracking the parcelization of collective cloas and the issuance of individual titles to ARBs. 11,917 beneficiaries were given CoCRoMs, freeing them from long-standing land amortizations. The distribution strengthens land tenure security and gives farmers a clearer path to fully own and develop the land they till. Also, a total of Php. 184 – million farm-to-market roads (FMR) were turned-over to Palo and San Miguel both in Leyte, Calbayog City and Tarangnan all in Western Samar, and Oras Eastern Samar which will ease travel and improve access to markets in these areas. Php. 10- million worth of irrigation facility was likewise received by the ARB members of Mabagdok Communal Irrigation System (CIS) boosting food production in the service area. The event ended with smiles, applause, and a shared sense of pride as the ARBs returned home with stronger land security, renewed hope, and new opportunities.
