PSA Conducts 2025 National Migration Survey

Tacloban City–The Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office VIII (PSA–RSSO 8) will conduct the 2025 National Migration Survey (2025 NMS) from August 4 to September 5, 2025. This nationwide survey aims to gather vital data on the mobility of the Philippine population.

PSA regional director Wilma Perante said that the data on flows understanding internal

  • Gather data on migration flows: Understanding international and internal migration patterns.
  • Identify characteristics of migrants: Collecting information on types of migration and migrant profiles.
  • Inform policymaking: Providing insights for developing and evaluating strategies to improve services and assistance for migrants.

Methodology:

  • 2023 Geo-enabled Master Sample: Covering approximately 2,723 eligible sample households.
  • Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) system: Ensuring efficient and accurate data collection.

Importance:

  • Mandated by law: The Philippine Statistical Act of 2013 (RA 10625) and Executive Order No. 87, series of 2025, support the conduct of the survey.
  • Data confidentiality: The PSA assures the public that all information obtained during the survey will be kept confidential in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173) and RA 10625.

Desacada TACLOBAN CITY – The Philippine Anti-Corruption Czar (PACC) on Friday (Sept. 19) conducted an ocular inspection of the ₱4.59 billion Tacloban Causeway Project to assess its progress, quality, and compliance with government standards. The PACC was led by its chairman, Louie F. Ceniza, its president, Vice Admiral Andres Visaya of PCRGA (Philippine Coastal and River Guards Association), and its Board of Trustees member, Pastor Allan Japor.
